All we need is a change of perspective

A great breather from all the bad things we've been seeing on the news lately. There's nothing wrong with being cautious but it's no reason for us to live in fear and negativity. Let this ad show you the other side of this crazy world we live in. A very short video that speaks a thousand words.

What makes me blush

Since I graduated this March, I've been very much focused on my beauty blog, I make sure that I do interesting and presentable articles. I spent my midnights looking through other beauty bloggers' articles, hoping that they'd return the favour and check mine out too. I'm currently approaching 8,000 views and it's only been up for 4 months. But I guess that's well deserved since I really put a lot of effort on it every single day. That's why it just makes me blush when some people go out of their way just to let me know that they appreciate what I share on my blog. Like this one.

Making leftovers more exciting

We had leftover Spaghetti sauce (which tastes amazing by the way!) and my brother and I decided to give it a little twist. Found this really unique idea on 9gag and this is our first attempt. This is how it went.

To reconnect, you must disconnect

Six months ago, we had a 3-day retreat at the ever so pristine and peaceful place of Caleruega. It was a nice break from all the stress in school (this happened on the very last semester in our whole college lives). It was a short 3-day vacation and I just really wanted to come back right after going home. But then, I had so much things lined up at that time, we all had so much things lined up at that time, since graduation was fast approaching. Then six months later, which is today, a friend posted this picture of myself, which reminded me of how I'm missing this paradise.

Cuteness overload

Here is a picture of Kobe (Pitbull-Japanese Spitz mix) trying on his new jersey. I've been in a life-long search for this particular jersey. Animal abuse? Nah, he seems happy.

Out of the asylum for a day

My mom would kill me once she finds out I called our home an 'asylum' again but that's really how it feels when you're in it 24/7, that's why it's so nice to just get out and be with the two best girls I love.

Missing this kind of fun

Spontaneous road trips, unplanned lunch at some Arabian/Middle Eastern Restaurant along West Ave and then delicious milkshakes at some milk tea shop a few streets away, with the only people I can be my self with.

We shall have another adventure soon. Only the next time around, we may no longer need to rent our trusted but expensive car we named 'Shebie' and we shall never go back to that Arabian/Middle Eastern resto, because to me that place is only a symbol of pure stench (although everyone I know totally digs it, I don't know why)

Instead, we shall find some more restaurants to dine in to that serves even worse food, more shops to do window shopping in and moan everytime we see something we like, and more coffee shops to do absolutely nothing in.

Breaking traffic rules, flipping off pervy truck drivers and turning a boring vehicle into an awesome party car. That's what we do best, and that's when we're happiest.

Leopard Print Nail Art

I haven't done a cute manicure in a while so I visited the channel of my very first and all time favorite nail art designer/nail artist to get a bit of inspiration. And one of her latest uploads caught my eye so I decided to do it on my own! Check her out: http://www.youtube.com/user/cutepolish

Copper and violet

I've been practicing eye make up recently but the ones I took before just didn't register well in pictures, plus they're not blog-worthy. But this one is (I think).

Meet Kobe

Indeed, I am stuck in this hell hole called Unemployment, but that allows me to spend more time at home with my dog. I walk him everyday just right before sunset and it's never an easy experience, he's very energetic and pulls on the leash until he almost chokes to death, but I still love walking him.

I came, I saw, I conquered.

I consider this as my most impulsive yet genius buy in 2012. There's no way of resisting this baby. I visited an online shop, spot this, and click the 'buy' button right away. So far, I like it a lot. The selection of the eye colors are really wide and there's a mix of matte and glossy finish which makes it a really smart purchase. Just like how they say it: "you get the best of both worlds".

Only an absolute insomniac would do this

It may seem like I did this on purpose but it really is just a product of my unstable mind and a really busted body clock. When the sun sets, that's when my awareness starts to shoot up and I feel my energy at its peak in the darkest hour of the night. In short, I did this cos I can't sleep.

You can never go wrong with colorful stones

When you think it's never enough, you're probably missing something: jewels (in different colors!)..

Effie Trinket nails

I went absolutely wild when I saw Elizabeth Banks' character in Hunger Games. I loved not only her outfits but also her nails... Out of everything, this is the most do-able and wearable --the reaping scene nails.

What boredom made us do

Had another visit from my friend and I know she wouldn't leave without me doing her nails again. Only this time, she's armed with a design request  --Chuck Taylor nails. Lines were a bit woozy because we were in a rush. We're supposed to go and drive to the mall to catch Hunger Games in 5 minutes while I was doing this... But hell, it still looked like shoes. No? Okay...

My desk/salon

My room is quite small (okay, not small-small, but small for a stuff hoarder like myself), so when I was asked whether I wanted to add either a desk or a place for my cosmetics, I had to pick the desk. I had to at least look like I want to prioritize school, since I was still in college at that time. But now that I graduated, I can do whatever I want, starting off by slowly converting my desk into this...

My most favorite nail design

I've tried jillions of designs on my own nails, but I know I will continuously go back to this simple design. In fact, this is what I'm wearing today.

The design I made for my super friend

The other part is supposed to be black but I added purple because she's super duper uber addicted to it.

Beauconera Experience

BEAUCONERA: a term used for girls (and gays) who are addicted in joining beauty pageants.

And I became one! Just for two days... We did a 15-minute film which serves as our final requirement for film class. It has been the toughest, the priciest and the deadliest requirement in our whole college life. We shot it for two days in different locations I can't even remember anymore.

I was the Production Designer, and one of the talents as well, so you can just imagine the exhaustion this film has given me! Have I mentioned that it has been the toughest, the priciest and the deadliest requirement in our whole college life?

Anyway, it was all worth it in the end. All the bitching and the backstabbing among the members has passed (I think!), the efforts in the pre-production, the post production and the production itself has paid off. And the money we spent! Oh, how am I going to start with the money... Well we better not go there. Important thing is, I learned soooooo much from it. That's the reason I went to school anyway, right?

Feline Obsession

The title says it all : )

What we do in our "secret place"

A had an unplanned afternoon stride with my friend in our little secret place in Intramuros. She had her DSLR and I had an urge to pose and be her model for the day.

This picture is also on my Lookbook page. You can check it out here: http://lookbook.nu/barbraandrea   : )

Starting Anew : )

Couple of years ago, I created my first ever blog. I didn't really know what to put up at that time so I kept writing and posting whatever comes to mind, until I realize one day that all I kept writing about was all these "gay stuff", if you know what I mean... No? Okay. Gay stuff, meaning mushy things, heart matters.. Get it? Okay.. I must stop here before this entry becomes one too. Haha.

Anyway, in this blog, I plan to post things about my latest trips, hobbies and activities. I will post entries that are mostly about Fashion, make up, nail art, unplanned road trips with my girls and tons more. Now that I'm out of college, I'll be able to do more things that I was never able to do before, as a busy college girl and I'm willing to share it all here!

So I will welcome this shiny new blog by showing you guys my first ever nail art design. I did this about a year ago. I painted my nails gold. Got my hands on an orange striper, and the rest is history..
